Their Challenge

As Sky Unlimited Inc™ scaled its operations, the company faced significant challenges in streamlining its design and production workflows. Managing custom orders required coordinating multiple Adobe applications like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat. The manual processes for job proofing, file generation, and data management were time-consuming and prone to errors. Additionally, integrating these workflows with their existing SkySchedule system and ensuring seamless communication between departments became increasingly complex. The lack of a centralized system hindered efficiency, delayed production timelines, and impacted their ability to meet customer expectations.

Our Solution

To address these challenges, we developed the Sky Launcher Desktop App—a comprehensive solution designed to automate and streamline Sky Unlimited Inc™’s production workflows. Built using Vue.js and Nuxt.js for the frontend and Electron JS for desktop application compilation, the app integrates seamlessly with Adobe applications through Extendscript and Adobe Scripting. The Sky Launcher Desktop App automates job proofing, file generation, and data management, while connecting to SkySchedule via REST API for real-time updates. Features like LogViewer, AutoInstaller, and printer connectivity further enhance operational efficiency, ensuring a smooth and error-free production process.

What AD-IOS Did

Automated Job Proofing and Output Generation

We developed a system that automates the job proofing process by extracting product details from file data or manual entries. Users can select colors, Pantones, sides, and assign businesses, generating output files in AI, PS, INDD, PDF, and TXT formats. This automation reduces manual errors and speeds up the production cycle.

Seamless Integration with Existing Systems

Our team ensured that the Sky Launcher Desktop App seamlessly integrates with Sky Unlimited Inc™'s existing SkySchedule system via REST API. This integration allows for real-time data exchange, automatic uploading of files and information, and synchronization across different departments.

Advanced Logging and Monitoring with LogViewer

We implemented a LogViewer feature that logs script executions, enabling the technical team to monitor processes and quickly identify and resolve any interruptions or errors. This proactive approach minimizes downtime and maintains operational efficiency.

User-Friendly AutoInstaller and Preferences Management

To simplify deployment, we created an AutoInstaller that copies all required files and generates an installer code for execution in the terminal. Users can easily manage application preferences and settings, making the app accessible even to non-technical staff.

Enhanced Printing Capabilities

We integrated printer connectivity into the app, allowing users to directly print files from proofs or outputs. This feature streamlines the printing process, reducing the steps required to produce physical proofs and final products.

Multi-Application Support and Adobe Scripting

By leveraging Extendscript and Adobe Scripting, we enabled the app to interact with multiple Adobe applications—InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. This multi-application support allows for a cohesive workflow, eliminating the need to switch between different software manually.
